- Description
- J and A for GMAPS Renewal Justification for an Exception to Fair Opportunity •1. Indentify the agency and contracting activity. This justification is executed by the General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Services Officer of Customer Accounts and Research located at 2200 Crystal Drive, Suite 200, Arlington, VA, 22202. •2. Nature/Description of the Action/Contract Type The Government intends to negotiate a logical follow-on Task Order with 5X Technologies for the Subscription Renewal and Maintenance Support for the GMAPS Plugin Bundle. The additional year subscription will be from August 10, 2012 to August 9, 2013. The total amount of this renewal is $6,177.23 •3. Description of Supplies/Services. The contract action will provide for an additional year subscription for maintenance and support renewal for GMAPS Plugin Bundle. The additional year subscription will be from August 10, 2012 to August 9, 2013. GSA, FAS, CAR has an existing Xcelsius Dashboard Tool which requires the capability of mapping specials points or offices throughout the world to identify purchase behavior of customers. 5X Technologies that created the GMAPS software which is the only source that can provide the below features that are needed to accurately run the Xcelsius Dashboard Tool: •1. Numerous map overlay options (i.e. plot pinpoints via address or latitude/longitude information). •2. The ability to pan & zoom into a desired location. •3. Contains all of the same view functionality as Google Maps (i.e. map, satellite, hybrid). •4. The ability to add custom icons for grouping items together and enable easy viewing. •5. Functionality to "lasso" multiple map points which provides on-the-fly comparisons. •6. Allows for series visibility (Use Cases below): •a) Creating drill paths from region, to state, to county requires a unique series for each data type. As a user clicks on a region or selects other filter criteria in a dashboard, series visibility provides the mechanism for showing or hiding a series based on any criteria (selection, zoom level, values, etc). •b) When a single map has different views, series visibility can be utilized rather than inserting multiple maps into a dashboard. For example a single map could show sales by Region, and then show top 10 Customers nationwide. These two views are un-related, but could be toggled within the same map. •c) Turning on/off layers within the map for end users is a common map visualization technique where a control panel with checkboxes allows an end user to analyze and "mashup" different data sources with a common geographic dimension.
