Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR Antenna Element Cutter Assembly EC-130 Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, AFLCMC/EBHKB PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the antenna element cutter assembly used on the EC-130 Aircraft. The antenna element cutter assembly is a fully self-contained electro-explosive unit consisting of a one inch hex-shaped aluminum body, 3.50 inches long, a steel cutting blade, and an electro-explosive primer. The electro-explosive primer is connected to a dual bridgewire circuit and an 18-inch electrical cable for connection to an external power source. The cutter assembly is functionally designed to cut a 0.25-inch steel pin, which is inserted through a hole in the cutter body. Actuation is by application of 5 amperes, 28 VDC external power to either or both bridgewire circuit electrical cable terminal end lugs. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. The Government does not have funds available to support second source qualification efforts. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, AFLCMC/EBHKB, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements. Small Business designation/status claimed No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Cobham Mission Systems, St Petersburg, FL has the capability and drawings for the antenna element cutter assembly and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 21 August 2012.
