- Description
- The USGS has a request for airborne geophysical survey data and maps of Nelson Basin, California on the Fort Irwin National Training Center (NTC) in the northern Mojave Desert using magnetic and time-domain electromagnetic (TEM) methods. Nelson Basin is floored by Jura-Cre taceous igneous basement and is mantled by Tertiary volcanic, alluvial, and lacustrine deposits. The basin is heavily faulted and surrounded by significant topography. A TEM system is required that can image the complex structural framework and internal stratigraphy of the basin. These data are intended for numerical inversion to determine the 3-D extent of structural geologic features and hydro stratigraphy within the study area. These data will be used to create a geologic framework to be input into a regional assessment of the Nelson Basin area. The USGS requires a platform that is well suited for near-surface investigations. The data must be well characterized and corrected for any system response and drift. The requirement is for 1000 line-kilometers. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and facilities required for conducting (TEM) domain helicopter electromagnetic and magnetic survey of the study area. The contractor will provide digitally recorded and processed airborne data. The USGS is in search of small business firms who are able to perform the above mentioned services. Small business firms who feel they can furnish the required services or its functional equivalent (based on criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials, which correspond to the required services state herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exists. Since no solicitation document exists, request for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request. NAICS Code: 541360
