- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR POWER INVERTERS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to post Questions and Answers. Question No. 1: May it be possible for us or NASA to add a The Hubbell Industrial Portable power strip to the Outback GFX International Series Inverter AC output to get the four output power receptacles and switches? Answer to Question No. 1: It is not possible for NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) nor your company to add a The Hubbell Industrial Portable power strip to the Outback GFX International Series Inverter AC output to get the four output power receptacles and switches for the following reasons: 1) The GFP15M/GFP20M was found to have two duplex receptacles with two duplex covers/dust caps. Although that equates to four output power receptacles with covers/dust caps, connecting an ac load to one of the outlets (of the duplex) would leave the second outlet (of the duplex) completely unprotected against FOD (foreign object debris). 2) The GFP15M/GFP20M was found not to have four output power switches; therefore all outlets would necessarily be energized/de-energized concurrently. This would require hot mate/demate of ac loads or that all energized ac loads be de-energized prior to mate. 3) The GFP15M/GFP20M was found not to have four output power switch guards to protect the switch function, as there are not four output power switches. 4) The GFP15M/GFP20M was not evaluated for this requirement, as the requirement is only applicable to the inverter dc input power interface. Additionally, a cursory review of the supplied GFX1424 data sheet failed to provide relevant information. 5) The GFP15M/GFP20M was not evaluated for this requirement, as the requirement is only applicable to the inverter dc input power. Additionally, a cursory review of the supplied GFX1424 data sheet failed to provide relevant information. 6) The GFP15M/GFP20M was found not to have four output power status LEDs, as all outlets would necessarily be energized/de-energized concurrently. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 24, 2012.
