- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ)] for the following Commercial item/services: 3 each 18' Butterfly LO2 Valves and 9 each Seal Kits. See specification information below: 18 Butterfly LO2 Valve Procurement Specification Media: Liquid Oxygen Size: 18 Type: Butterfly, Triple Offset Body Type: Narrow Pattern, ASME B 16.10 TAB.I-8 COL. 1 (BUTTERFLY FTF) Actuator: Manual with chain Connections: Class 150# Flanges Pressure temp rating: ASME B16.34 STD CLS Grp 2.3 Matls, (Design Pressure 230 psig) (Design Temp -321 F Ambient) Valve Body/Bonnet Material: A351 CF3M (316 SS) Valve Seat: Stellite Valve disc seal ring: solid Valve disc (wedge): A351 CF3M (316 SS) Stem Seal: dual pack, live loaded, with lantern ring and port Stem Seal material: PTFE Body-Bonnet Seal: PCTFE Acceptance Testing Requirements: 1. Shell Test per ASME B16.34 Section 7.1 (Hydrostat).No visible leakage shall be detected at 150% of the rated pressure for 120 seconds. 2. The valve shall be subjected to the supplemental non-destructive examinations described in ASME B16.34 Section 8 for Special Class Valves. No purchaser witness inspection required. This includes RT examination of the castings, forgings, bars, plates and tubular products, welded assemblies and PT examination of all accessible portions of the same. Ultrasonic may be substituted if approved, per ASME B16.34, 8.3.1.3. 3. Perform Low Pressure Seat Leak Check with helium. Acceptable leakage 36 scc/min at 80 psig. 4.Perform High Pressure Seat Leak Check with helium. Acceptable leakage 93 scc/min at 230 psig. 5.High Pressure External Leak Check with helium at 230 psig. Acceptable leakage less than 1 x 10-4 sccs. 6. Certificate of Compliance is required. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 332911 and 500, respectively. The anticipated release date of RFQ NNK12244325Q is on or about August 13, 2012 with an anticipated quotation due date of on or about September 7, 2012. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html. T he solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
