Description
The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) for the following custom genes to support funded research studies. This is a Request for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-27. This is an unrestricted requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516. In order to be considered for this requirement, you company shall have this NAICS code listed in CCR and ORCA. This requirement may have a (1) or (2) twelve month option for an extended Service agreement if approved by the Customer. The following are Minimum Essential Characteristics: Brand Name or Equal DSD requires a Microarray system for running and analyzing NimbleGen microarray slides for pathogen identification as well as comparative genome hybridization, DNA methylation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis studies. This system must be brand name equivalent to that being procured by the CDC and Columbia University under JSTO/DTRA Funded effort, project # 1143798, Threat Characterization Consortium. 1.This system must include: a.A hybridization system i.Must be a 110 volt system capable of running 4 slides at a time ii.Must be capable of processing NimbleGen arrays iii.Must have a low sample volume (<8 ul) b.A microarray slide washing system i.Must be automated and reproducible ii.Must be capable of washing and drying up to 12 slides in less than 10 minutes in order to minimize dye degradation iii.Must be capable of processing NimbleGen arrays c.Microarray Scanning system i.Must be capable of processing the current NimbleGen arrays (2.1M) and the next generation NimbleGen arrays (4.2M) ii.Must be automated and contain ozone reduction capabilities iii.Must be capable of scanning >45 slides without user input once the scanning process was begun (automatic PMT/auto-focus adjustment) iv.Must be highly reproducible, containing calibration metrics which can be used for calibrate the scanner v.Must be capable of 2 micron resolution vi.Must include a computer with at least 1 terabyte hard drive and software for image analysis d.Viral Discrimination Array i.An array slide capably of being run and analyzed using the NimbleGen Microarray Scanning System ii.Must contain probes to known vertebrate viruses; probes must be tolerant of mismatches, allowing for the identification agents similar to the ones being targeted All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ or https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about, August 1, 2012, and will only be available until September 04, 2012. Specifications of the requirement are provided in solicitation: W81XWH-12-R-0077. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. To be eligible for an award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry at https://ccr.gov/ and may have completed its representations and certification found at https://orca.bpn.gov/. Numerous emails from one offeror shall not be accepted. Telephone requests will not be honored and bidder lists will not be maintained.
