Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to the University of Wisconsin System, State Laboratory of Hygiene, 465 Henry Mall, Rm 403, Madison, WI 53706. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 13.106-1. The award be be done using simplified procedures requesting a written quotation. The anticipated award date is August 15, 2012. Contractor will provide inactivated viral bordetella spp pertusis proficiency panel samples. The delivery date for the samples is September 30, 2012. The University of Wisconsin, State Laboratory of Hygiene is the only known provider that can provide consistent Bordetella proficiency panels that can meet CDC quality requirements. This is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement.
