- Description
- Provided are questions and answers for referenced project. Building 121: Q: Are there existing as-built drawings showing the added offices and HVAC Zones? A: None available, however we believe potential bidders have been given ample opportunity to visit the site and determine exact requirements. Q: Is the existing fire alarm system to be expanded, upgraded or replaced to meet current fire and life safety codes? A: Yes if need be. Q: Are fire sprinklers to be added? A: Project meets all applicable codes, including fire. Q: Is the existing/new drop ceiling, office spaces and building to be upgraded to meet the current fire and life safety code? A: This acquisition does not anticipate these requirements, if they become necessary they will not be done under this project or an addendum will be made to the future contract. Building 126: Q: Are compressors to be included with the new condensing units? A: Yes General: Q: Could we get an existing floor plan since the original design has changed? A: See above, we have issued all the plans that are available. Q: Is there an asbestos remediation report? A: Yes and it will be available after award. Q: Does Haskell have their own remediation team or do we need to include something for abatement: Is there asbestos on the old HW tank in 126? A: If asbestos is found or discovered while performing this work, the project will be remediated but not within this current contract scope. Q: Are the work hours standard time? A: Yes Q: If we do have to interrupt HVAC services to building 121, how long will be allowed? A: The occupants know of the pending project and expect it; however once award is made both parties will work together to schedule shut-downs and limit them as much as possible within reason. Same goes for interruption of coolers and freezers. Q: Is there a budget for this project? A: All that will be released is the magnitude of the project which is between $250,000 and $500,000. Q: Are liquidated damages still in play? A: Yes, LDs of $500 per day for contractor caused delays. Q: Can you clarify the start date, duration for installation and end date for us? A: Contractor will start after background check has been completed and approved and Contracting Officer issues a Notice to Proceed. Contractor will have 120 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed to complete the project, assuming no government caused delays. There will be no e-mail or faxed bids accepted, and bid opening is still scheduled for 3 August 2012 at 2:00 PM CDT. Bids are to be submitted to Susan Sutton at BIA- Eastern Region, 545 Marriott Drive, Ste 700, Nashville TN 37214.
