Description

Construction Project No. 656-12-214, entitled 'Replace Bldg 50 Med Air Equip' at the VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota. This solicitation is issued as an IFB (Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov and https//orca.bpn.gov by the bid due date. The NAICS code is 236220. Contractor shall prepare the site for construction and furnish all labor, materials and equipment required to perform the work which includes: demolition of existing medical gas equipment and piping, and installation of new equipment, piping, valves, medical gas system monitoring, electrical and all associated components and incidental trades required as per the plans and specifications. Liquidated damages do apply to this project at a rate of $132.00 per day beyond the contract completion date. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until the VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on www.fbo.gov. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information will be available free of charge on www.fbo.gov. No bidder's mailing lists are maintained by the Contracting Officer. The interested parties list is available on www.fbo.gov. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All questions or inquiries must be submitted via email to wendy.hoeschen@va.gov. The solicitation will be issued on or around August 13, 2012. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2012 at 1 PM CST in Bldg 3 Rm 207C; attendance is not mandatory but strongly encouraged. A public bid opening will be held on September 14, 2012 at 2PM CST when bids are due. Electronic or faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires bidders to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
