- The proposed contract action is for commercial item, which the Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis to LIFECELL CORP., under the authority of Far 13.106-1 (b). This is a combined solicitation/synopsis for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number, N00259-12-T-0845 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 339113. All interested bidders shall submit quotations electronically by email to joseph.bancod@med.navy.mil or by facsimile at 619-532-5596, attention Joseph Bancod. E-mail submissions are limited to 2MB. The submitter should confirm receipt of facsimile and email submissions. Quotations are due on or before 31 July 2012 at 0800 AM Pacific Standard Time to be considered responsive. CLIN:0001 Alloderm Human Dermal Tessue 6 X 16 thick #1520616 Each 6 Qty$___________ CLIN:0002 Alloderm Human Dermal Tessue 8 X 16 thick #1520128 Each 6 Qty$___________ CLIN:0003 Shipping cost $___________ Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), sole source justification is based on LIFECELL CORP being the ONLY company that can provide these specialized tissues that are used are for the follow on surgery of Breast reconstruction, implementing a new product at this stage of surgery can risk patient undergoing Breast Reconstruction. In addition, the providers have had an increase of infections rates with Breast Reconstruction with tissue expanders and dermal substitutes. Contractor must be registered to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award.
