THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. In preparation for a future procurement, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas is performing market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, woman-owned, small business, or large business) relative to NAICS 339112 (size standard500 employees) that can offer same or products listed below: DESCRIPTIONQUANTITYUNIT 1. WOUND VAC THERAPY UNIT, Length 6.8" (17.2 cm);' 20 EA width 3.9" (9.9cm); and depth 2.4" (6.1 cm). The weight of the unit with an empty canister 0.7 lbs(0.32 kg), two pressure options for clinician to select either 125 mmHg or 75 mmHg. Therapy System is utilized with a latex free, sterile, 250 cc/ml canister with graduated markings. The canister includes isolyser absorbent material and is omni-directional allowing unit to be positioned in any orientation without triggering an alarm. The canister is single use,closed system. If unit is set at 75 mmHg then pressure will cycle between 25 mmHg and 75 mmHg every 3 minutes. If unit is set at 125 mmHg, then the pressure cycles from 25 mmHg and 125 mmHg every 3 minutes. Feature to prevent leaks and fluid accumulation in dressing and improve patient comfort. Simple touch screen controls;intuitive menus simplify therapy programming and operation; preset therapy settings by wound type eases setup; step-by-step guide simplifies setup for infrequent users. On screenUser Guide saves time. Seal Check(TM) provides instant feedback to help identify leaks; therapy history reportallows clinicians to monitor and track therapy settings, alarm history, therapy dates and times, dressing and canister changes and records the number of pieces of foam used. Easy-to-use intuitive touch screen controls; single-touch therapy on/off; audible and visual alarms. Interested companies should submit an electronic statement outlining their company's capability and capacity to provide the product, the specifications of the product, and the delivery time to get the product to Houston, Texas. Also, firms should provide their business size status in accordance with the small business administration website (www.sba.gov) for the above referenced NAICS code they fall within (i.e. small businesses, 8(a) firms, HUBZones, small disabled veteran owned businesses, etc.) This Sources Sought is for informational purposes and all businesses able to provide this product are encouraged to submit information regardless of Business size. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements.
