Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Office of Mine Safety and Health Research (OMSHR) have intent to issue a Purchase Order to Howden Buffalo, Inc. for an Axivane Fan with 2-stage MSHA Rated Motor with silencer attached (Model 23-17-600 AP 2-stage). This acquisition is for exact replacement of an EXISTING FAN, used in the NIOSH Test Ventilation Gallery; for the continuous measurement of and evaluation of distribution of methane and development of methane clouds. Replacement Axivan Fan and Silencer must meet the follow specifications: Motor 50 HP @ 3600 RPM, TEAO, NEMA Premium Efficient (XE), MSHA Rated, 326T Frame 460/3/60, Barrel Mounting • Rotor Balance Specification: Dynamic • Rotor Whirl Test: 125% of Operating Speed • Continuous Weld on Casting Assembly • Paint - all steel parts will be shot blasted and painted orange. Silencer for 23-17-3600 AP 2-stage Fan • Diameter: approx. 46" • Length: approx. 75" • Silencer type" absorptive • Design flow: 12,000 CFM • Estimated noise level: 85dBA at 39 inches from end of silencer. • Estimated pressure loss with uniform inlet flow: 0.41.W.G. at 12,000 cfm. Responsible Sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written item description/item characteristics and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the item description and pricing information to James Ambrozic, CDC / NIOSH, 626 Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, and Reference 2012-Q-50874. All Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractors Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all item descriptions and pricing information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.103-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with, Howden North America, Inc., 338 S. Broadway St., New Philadelphia, OH. 44663-3873, as the only source and a Purchase Order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
