- Description
- This notice is being published in accordance with FAR Part 5.101, requiring the dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. The US Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a sole-source contract to Aurora Aerospace, Inc. for the Research and Development payload integration of a FLIR 380HDL Gimbal onto the contractor owned surrogate unmanned air system. This award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Agency Requirements, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The modification to the unmanned aircraft involves the integration of the FLIR 380HDL Gimbal with associated hardware, fabrication of the form fitting payload box, and modification to the unmanned aircraft's unique EMI Shielded frame to accommodate the mechanical integration of the Interchangeable Gimbal Mounting Systems. Aurora Aerospace has developed an Electromagnetic Payload Box System utilizing their proprietary technology. The payload box must have the capabilities to support antenna diversity when antennas are connected to different radios and different levels of power which are required to operate the multiple payloads. This evolving technology is essential to the successful standardization and usage across the DoD. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or bids. All interested parties may submit a capability statement in response to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish capabilities to fulfill the requirement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties responding to this notice. Please email frank.j.dandrea@usace.army.mil with responses regarding this requirement.
