- Solicitation Number: Unknown Notice Type: Sources Sought Announcement Via: FBO SYNOPSIS OF REQUIREMENT This is a sources sought announcement only and is not a request for proposals or quotes. The Veterans Administration (VA) Veterans Integrated Service Network 9 (VISN 9) has six VA Medical Centers (VAMC's) located within the VISN 9 region including: Huntington, WV; Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; Memphis, TN; Mt. Home (Johnson City), TN; and Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) with campuses in Murfreesboro and Nashville, TN. The VAMC coverage areas extend somewhat into adjacent states such as Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. The VA anticipates making multiple awards throughout the VISN 9 region. At present VISN 9 has an urgent need to identify facilities within the VISN 9 region that can provide specialized psychiatric/behavioral long-term care services and ventilator dependent services in a long-term care setting. Please note that the facility must be a Medicare approved facility and it will need to meet and comply with VA standards. The facility should meet or exceed the Medicare "2 Star" rating and may be required to obtain and maintain a "3 Star" Medicare rating. The facility may be requested to enter into an Agreement to furnish services. Facilities will be required to comply with all HIPPA and Privacy laws, rules, and regulations. The following are the types of care/services for which VISN 9 has an urgent need: 1.Secured/Monitored care for Veterans with psychiatric and behavioral care issues in a long-term care facility. The Veterans, in addition to other care needs, require 24/7 monitoring in a secure facility to ensure the Veteran does not wander off. 2.Locked down facilities for Veterans with psychiatric and behavioral care issues in a long-term care facility. In addition to other care needs, the Veteran needs to be secured in a room/ward where access to the room/ward is available only to those staff members with keys/card keys. 3.Ventilator dependent patient care in a long-term care facility which can range from basic ventilator care needs to extremely complex care needs including ventilator care. Attached is a general Statement of Work. The Statement of Work (SOW) is offered for information only. This is not all inclusive but rather a general idea of the type and magnitude of the requirement.
