- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Agilent Technologies of Walnut Creek, CA, for the acquisition of a Three Axis Interferometer System to be used by the Semiconductor and Dimensional Metrology Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. *****Sole source determination is based on the need to purchase a Three Axis Interferometer System manufactured by Agilent Technologies, capable of reading the instrument over a Local Area Network (LAN) and web browser operated over Ethernet. The key specifications are as follows: 1. Compact (fits within a volume of 50xx x 70mm x 150 mm 2. High resolution (better than 1 nm) 3. Three axis 4. Readable using Ethernet/LAN 5. Readable using standard protocols such as HTTP Agilent Technologies is the only vendor capable in providing a Three Axis Interferometer capable in providing the option to read the instrument over Ethernet using a web browser. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees. ******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by July 31, 2012 will be considered by the Government.
