- Pre-solicitation Notice: Lasergene Core Suite site License This proposed contract action is for IT Maintenance Services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is a sole source requirement that is proprietary to DNA Star located in Madison, Wisconsin. No other supplies or services will satisfy the government's needs. DNA star is the only manufacturer of the Lasergene Core Suite License. This is a requirement of the USDA-APHIS,VS, NVSl, at Ames, Iowa. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals received within 5 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. The minimum software applications the Government is looking for in a Core suite license are as follows: Seqman Pro a contig assembly and SNP detection module with a powerful alignment algorithm that can handle very large data sets (about 250 Megabases of data) MegAlign that contains four multiple sequence alignment methods for aligning nucleic acid or polypeptide sequences. SeqBuilder module that can used for importing, editing, annotating, and displaying your DNA or protein sequences in a variety of views. PrimerSelect module that can be used for the selection of PCR primer pairs and DNA and RNA probes. Protean for analysis that can be applied to a large number of analysis methods in a protein sequence, with an interface similar to that of GeneQuest. GeneQuest - a comprehensive array of DNA analyses designed to aid in gene discovery and sequence annotation of any sized sequence. Protean D application that can be used for exploring macromolecular structure, motion, and function and finally Genevision and SeqNinja A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether it will become necessary to conduct a competitive procurement.
