- SUPPLY PROJECT PROJECT NAME: FY12 MACARTHUR LOCK BEVEL GEARS FABRICATION The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, intends to solicit for the Fabrication and delivery of up to eight bevel gear assemblies for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers MacArthur Lock located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Each assembly consists of the following components: 54" cast steel bevel gear, 20" forged steel bevel pinion, 30" cast steel driving pinion, and miscellaneous bushings, washers, caps, bolts and screws. The base contract will consist of 4 assemblies. The contract will include two options, each consisting of 2 assemblies. All gear tooth cutting is to be accomplished through the use of a gear hobber, unless otherwise approved by the Government. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 332710. This procurement is being solicited as unrestricted. Required completion of base: 180 days post award Required completion of option 1: 60 days post required completion for base Required completion of option 2: 60 days post required completion for option 1 The estimated award date of the firm-fixed price contract is mid September 2012. A bid bond in the amount of the offer is required. This is a Best Value solicitation. Evaluation will be based on the proposal that is the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable meeting or exceeding the acceptability standards for non-cost factors. Non-cost factors that establish the requirements of acceptability will be based on Technical Capability and Past Performance. Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with FAR 15.101-2 Lowest Price Technically Acceptable Source Selection Process. Tradeoffs are not permitted. This announcement serves as advance notice for this project. The solicitation is anticipated to be available on or about 6 August 2012.
