- Description
- Annual Representations and Certifications - Section K Model Contract BAA-RQKP-2012-0004 This effort will be performed in the experimental laboratories and test facilities located within the Air Force Research Laboratory's Aerospace Systems (formerly Propulsion) Directorate research complex at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The offeror will design, develop, test and evaluate fundamental light-matter interaction concepts and methods for combustion research in AFRL/RQT laboratories. Example of research areas being investigated include: - Multi-species, multi-parameter imaging/spectroscopy - High-pressure combustion instability data and analysis - Fiber-coupled laser light delivery and data collection - Ultra-fast, spectroscopy-based, diagnostic methods The offeror will develop and apply laser-based diagnostic techniques to enhance the experimental work conducted within AFRL/RQT programs. A further emphasis of the program is to develop non-invasive techniques to visualize and quantify the flow field, fluid parameters and key species concentrations present in combustion processes. Research entails a combination of testing and modifying existing research rigs to pursue new and novel ideas, and develop these techniques for use in component research rigs. This program is linked to AFRL/RQT High Impact Technology (HIT) goals and could transition new capabilities to the Versatile Affordable Advanced Turbine Engine (VAATE) program. Collaboration with multiple entities from Government, industry and academia is expected.
