- Description
- Radiology and Imaging Sciences(R&IS) and The Center for Interventional Oncology(CIO) in collaboration involving the Clinical Center (CC), National Cancer Institute (NCI) and National Heart Lung and Blood Institutes (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health located in Bethesda, Maryland has an requirement for the flex Focus 200 Ultrasound scanner with an end-fire endo-cavity transducer and a bi-plan endo-cavity transducer. This low-end ultrasound system with transducer suitable for MRI/Ultrasound fusion guided targeted prostate biopsy and therapy. Over the past seven years, NIH has developed a technology that allows the diagnostic information from MRI to be used in ultrasound room for prostate procedure guidance The previous scanner we have been using is Philips iU22, which is a high-end ultrasound scanner typically used by radiologist for diagnosis. In order to disseminate our technology, we will customize our technology so that it can be integrated with a low-end ultrasound system. The use of a bi-plane endo-rectal probe with side-fire configuration will allow the prostate to be imaged in both planes without the need of moving the probe. This advance technology will enable our research in targeting prostate biopsy and therapy. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334510, Size Standard - 500. The vendor responses must demonstrate their expertise in the areas described above. Please note that failure to specifically demonstrate ability to provide the required requirement in your response to this solicitation will be considered nonresponsive in the Government's review of industry's ability to perform these requirements. The vendor's response shall be in sufficient detail to allow the Government to assess the capability of your firm. The vendor response shall also include any other specific and relevant information related to the specialized requirements of this project that will enable the Government to determine the capabilities of the company to perform the requirements described in this synopsis. Interested organizations must demonstrate and document in any response submitted, to this solicitation extensive experience with and the ability to perform the specialized requirements. Please note the Evaluation Criteria as follows(in order of importance): Bi-plane prostate imaging- -The ultrasound scanner must support a bi-plane(one axial plane and one sagittal plane) endo-cavity probe so that the prostate can be imaged simultaneously in the two- imaging planes. -The bipopsy needle should be allowed to go through the bi-plane probe. -The vendor must demostrate adequate expertise and experience in the urological market for ultrasound. -Price will be the final factor considered/ total cost must include one bi-plane endo-cavity transducer and one end-fire endo-cavitytransducer. All offerors shall provide quote by July 30,2012 at 9a.m. via email to Gail Akinbinu gakinbinu@cc.nih.gov
