- THIS IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR SOLICITATION. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking small business concerns, including veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, and women owned small businesses. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The following information is provided to assist the FDA in conducting Market Research to identify potential small business concerns for this effort: Scope of Work: The FDA National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) requires a 3-fold electric-module Fermentor Bioreactor System to conduct in-vivo studies aimed at understanding the antibacterial resistant colonization often exhibited in humans and the environment. Requirements: *The system must be stainless steel and accommodate three small vessels simultaneously. *The system shall have a gassing system that uses a pump module with O2 supplementation capability; the involvement of a solenoid valve will is required to facilitate oxygen enrichment as well a number of check and safety valves. These valves will allow for the automatic mixing of gas via the workstation controller. *The system shall have two (2) integrated pumps per three (3) small vessels. *The system shall be required to possess a thermostat system with recirculation pumps for independent vessel temperature control. *The shall have an agitation system that enables sample material to be stirred (there has to be a coupling between the stirring mechanism shaft and motor). Each stirring shaft material must be comprised of silicon carbide/carbon and stainless steel blades; each stainless steel lid must have ports for aeration tubes and quick connect hose connectors for tubing. *The vessels (3) must have a minimum volume holding capacity of 0.75 liters. Each vessel must be jacketed round bottom borosilicate glass with polished stainless steel lids. *The system shall include pre-configured software for up to 12-fold operation *The system shall include a minimum 12-month warranty inclusive of parts, travel, and labor. *The system shall be installed by a certified representative of the vendor as well must instruction and training shall be provided for up to one year upon purchase date. Respondents should supply: • Business name, DUNS number, business address, business website, business size status (i.e., SB, VOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone SB, SDB, WOSB), point of contact name, mailing address (if different from business address), phone number and email address. •Indicate whether you are the manufacturer of the product put forth for consideration and if not the manufacturer, identify your position in the supply chain and identity the actual manufacturer. •Capability statement with sufficient descriptive literature that unequivocally demonstrates the technically capability of the product. •Description list of computer software, components, and accessories required to operate or otherwise support the instrument. •Capability statements must provide enough information to determine if the company can meet the requirement and be not longer than 5 pages excluding set-aside certifications. •Availability of requested equipment via U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule to include Schedule Number, Special Item Number (SIN), and Contract Number. •Informational pricing. •Prior experience over the last five (3) years in furnishing requested equipment to include institution and point of contact name, phone number and email address for each institution identified.
