Additionally, this system can be utilized as a motorized fluorescence microscope in addition to operation as a slide scanning system, as opposed to other slide scanners which are self-contained, closed box systems that lack this flexibility. The VS120 system also includes the following capabilities: Has the ability to scan in multiple Z-planes Provides an Extended Focus scan (EF I) The scanning system allows for the real time review of the high resolution scan during the scanning process The system can scan multiple ROI from one sample The system is able to scan multiple magnification layers with in the same image file Fluorescence calibration is available for each individual color channel The system provides real-time online deblurring for fluorescence scanning applications The system is able to support advanced image processing software including maximum intensity projection and deconvolution algorithms The VS120FL comes configured with a set of 8 position excitation and 8 posit ion emission high speed filter wheels that allow rapid changeover between fluorochromes, The system utilizes a 14 bit Cooled monochrome CCD camera. Minimizing exposure times and delivering exceptional sensitivity and dynamic range. The VS-ASW FL software calculates a Z-focus offset during the calibration process to insure that each wavelength is optimally focused during multi-channel acquisition.
