Description
The primary objective of the planned treatment is to improve wildlife habitat. Secondarily, it reduces natural fuel loading within the area. The proposed contract is to mechanically treat vegetation within the boundaries of identified units by chopping, mulching, and/or shredding the existing vegetation. This will result in a mosaic of vegetation with irregular boundaries and isolated pockets of untreated vegetation throughout. Two separate areas have been designated for treatment under the proposed contract totaling approximately 91 acres. The allotted time for performing this contract is one hundred and twenty (120) days from the date of award. All work shall be performed on the Uncompahgre plateau in Mesa County, Colorado. This project is being advertised as a total small business set-aside and as such is open to all small businesses. The solicitation for this project will be available only through the Federal Business Opportunities website www.fbo.gov. All questions pertaining to this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Jay Tobin at jtobin@fs.fed.us. All Offerors shall be registered to the Central Contractor's Registry (CCR) in accordance to FAR 52.204-7, and must be registered in ORCA in accordance to FAR 52.204-8. Offerors must respond to all instructions in Section L of the solicitation to be considered responsive to this solicitation. Offerors that fail to meet these criteria will not be considered for award. A pre-proposal site visit is scheduled for August 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM. The tour will begin from the intersection of Uranium Road (FSR 404) and FSR 405. Prospective Offerors are requested to email jtobin@fs.fed.us to confirm attendance. The anticipated date for issuance of the solicitation is on or around July 26, 2012. The actual due date will be identified on the solicitation.

Address: Turkey Track project units are located on the northwest portion of the Uncompahgre Plateau west of the Calamity Creek Drainage. The units are located adjacent to FSR 405. The project can be accessed from Highway 141 to the Divide Road (FS Road 402, County Rd 26.1 RD.) then proceed southwest on FS Road 404 (Uranium Road). At the intersection of FS 404 with FS Road 405 proceed north approximately 2 miles to first unit along road, marked with orange flagging., Mesa County, Colorado, United States
