Description

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service intends to make an award, on a sole-source basis, to Illumina for the iScan bench top reader that utilizes BeadArray technology and includes the iScan Reader, and isolation table. The lab has been using Illumina's equipment and reagents to perform similar genotyping experiments since 2006 with success and already possesses sufficient reagents to assay thousands of samples. Due to the highly specialized nature of the experiments being conducted, it is important to maintain system consistency and Illumina reagents can only be used on Illumina equipment. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Potential sources who believe they can provide the services listed above are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. The estimated award date is July 31, 2012.
