Description
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is looking for sources that can upgrade a Hampton Engineering H-6290 Gas/Liquid Absorption Column from manual controls to automatic controls. The system must be capable of communication with an Armfield UOP5 Liquid-Liquid Extraction Unit (similar to the FT22 Rising Film Evaporator but much larger), a double effect evaporator purchased in 1991, and a custom-built Deltech Distillation Column purchased in 1986. All three of these units have custom-built GE-Fanuc control panels that were installed over the last three years as part of a lab modernization program. The GE-Fanuc panels contain modular programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that plug into each other inside the main panel so that we can easily switch them from unit to unit. The arrangement of the PLCs in each panel is a very specific custom job, with wiring and instrumentation that is integrated into the unit. Interchangeability is required within the existing units as well as interchangeability within the unit itself. System must be compatible with the common monitoring software that is used: Cimplicity. This is a GE product that is made to work specifically with the GE-Fanuc PLCs mentioned above. This also works over the local network so that we can run the units from the classroom and watch what they are doing. The Cimplicity software is a programming environment. The specific code that controls and monitors our units was custom-programmed for us using Cimplcity as the programming environment. It also automatically creates and maintains our database, which is also common among all of our instruments, that allows us to monitor instrument readings over many years. If you can provide an update that meets these requirements please email a capabilities statement along with any Small Business Administration (SBA) certifications to dominick.belfiore@us.army.mil no later than the due date of 4pm EST on 7/23/2012.
