- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a fixed price sole source task order for a study and report deliverable to be completed by The Boeing Company (TBC). The study shall provide options for a replacement for the obsolete, cathode ray-tube based IP-1556A as currently installed in Lot 12-21 Night Attack F/A-18 C/D aircraft. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft and its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.
