Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration, has a requirement for a 75 ton telescopic crawler crane for its James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF), Fleet Operations Group, located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (formerly, Fort Eustis), Newport News, Virginia. The Contractor will be required to set up the crane on JRRF’s existing Deck Barge FB-214. Set up of the crane on the deck barge will be performed either at the JRRF facility or at an off-site location of the Contractor’s choosing provided that the contractor will be responsible for moving the FB-214 from the JRRF and returning it to the JRRF with the crane on board. As funding has not yet been committed for this requirement, award of a contract will be subject to availability of funds. It is desired that award of a contract can be made on or about September 1, 2012, and that the crane can be set up and ready for operation within 90-days following award. The complete solicitation package with a detailed Statement of Work will be posted on this website on or about July 17, 2012. ATTENTION: Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. The Maximum line of credit is $750,000. The STLP loan has a variable rate, which is connected to the prime rate.
