- Description
- The base bid has been awarded. An expansion to the west end of building 308 to create work space for a plasma cutter. The expansion shall be a pre-engineered metal building system to match the existing building constructed over existing gravel and concrete parking/storage space. The building expansion will include a concrete foundation, overhead doors, personnel doors, windows, and extension of the existing crane rails. The west end of the existing building shall be removed so that the new expansion is open to the existing machine shop workspace and the existing overhead crane can move between the existing and new workspace. The existing overhead 480V conductor bar system to power the existing overhead crane shall be replaced. The new overhead 480V conductor bar system shall replace the existing conductor bar and extend into the new shop expansion so that the crane can be fully operated from the existing shop or from the new workspace. The shop expansion shall include a makeup air system that utilizes a fixed plate heat exchanger for heat recovery, gas fired wall mounted unit heaters and a new air compressor with dryer connected to an expanded compressed air piping distribution. The natural gas piping shall be changed to accommodate the shop expansion involving the extension of the buried and above ground piping. A second natural gas regulator shall be installed in parallel with the existing regulator to deliver gas to the new heating ventilating equipment. Convenience receptacles, T5 high bay lighting and emergency exit lighting will be installed. Electrical loads along the existing west wall will be relocated to allow wall removal. Specific electrical feeders and disconnects will be installed to accommodate loads like the welding outlets, plasma cutter, and compressor. Install new underground electric service connection to building and any other incidental related work due to changes. The office addition to building 308 along the north side of the existing building shall include: the addition shall be constructed over existing gravel and concrete parking/storage space and includes a concrete foundation, stud walls with CMU face, wood trusses, and metal roof. The work also includes standard office finishes with metal doors and windows, painted gypsum board drywall, acoustical tile ceilings, vinyl and quarry tile floors, and cabinetry and furnishings. Fluorescent and exit lighting, along with data drops and convenience receptacles will be installed. The office addition utility room will house the electrical panel board and HVAC equipment. The office addition shall be mechanically heated and cooled through a ducted forced air split AC/furnace system.
