Description

The Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price Construction contract award to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing construction elements, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Renovate Clinical Addition & 1st Floor Elevator Lobbies as required by drawings and specifications. The contractor is to follow all OSHA safety guidelines. 1.2 STATEMENT OF BID ITEM(S) A.ITEM I, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, elevators, water storage facilities, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. B.BASE BID - The contractor will furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to accomplish the project as indicated on the drawings and in the specifications. The project will involve but not be limited to trades required for the interior renovation of the First floor elevator lobbies and vending area at Building 1, including, but not limited to, demolition of interiors, construction of partitions, ceilings, doors, finishes, HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems. C.ALTERNATE NO.1: Deduct curved accent floor tile (Field Tile specified to be installed throughout) D.ALTERNATE NO. 2: Existing vending area, including finishes, ceiling, HVAC, electrical, and fire protection, to remain. Wall construction between Main Elevator Lobby and Vending Area to be remain. Existing Door between Clinical Addition lobby and Vending area to remain. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. The U.S. Small Business Administration Size Standard is $33,500,000.00. The SOLICITATION issue date will be approximately JULY 26, 2012 with an approximate response date of AUGUST 27, 2012. A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be scheduled around AUGUST 8, 2012. Contractors are encouraged to read the entire solicitation and send questions to the Contracting Officer before the pre-bid meeting. The solicitation will be an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and will be issued as a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business set-aside. The project magnitude is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The solicitation will result in a Firm-Fixed Priced Contract. The entire solicitation will be made available only on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site https://www.fbo.gov/index?cck=1&au=&ck=. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be available. The SOW, contract drawings and specifications will be available when the solicitation is posted. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the EPS website frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
