Description
Location Map Z- Gold Creek Trail Construction & Reconstruction onthe Wise River Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest Description of Work. The Gold Creek Project is on the Wise River Ranger District in Beaverhead County, T2S, R12W, Sections 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 and T3S, R12W, Section 6. The project consists of 2 miles of new trail construction and 5 miles of existing trail restoration along Gold Creek Trail Number 2152 in the East Pioneer Mountains. The work shall begin at the Lost Meadow Trailhead and shall end at the section line between Sections 5 and 6 of T3S, R12W. The new trail shall be constructed to meet the needs of multiple users including stock, hikers, and mountain bikes. New construction shall include the following: dips, switchbacks, climbing turns, turnpike, sign installations, minor rock excavation, and other miscellaneous associated items. Project Location and Directions. Lost Meadow Trailhead is located along the Pioneer Scenic Byway. To get to this project from Wise River turn right onto the Pioneer Scenic Byway and drive approximately 17 miles to the turnoff for Lost Meadow Trailhead. It is well marked. The work begins at the trailhead and continues up Trail No. 2152 to the top of the ridge. You can also access this trail from the Canyon Creek Road off of I-15 near Melrose. Gold Creek Trail is non-motorized. Contractors must hike or ride stock from Lost Meadow Trailhead to view the project prior to bidding. Magnitude of Construction is between $25,000 and $100,000 Period of Performance: 90 calendar days beginning in July 2013. No site visit is planned, interested contractors are encouraged to inspect the site on their own prior to submission of quote.
