- Description
- PROJECT SCOPE Contractor shall provide design documents as required in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) to in include, but not limited to: equipment selection, investigations, design surveys, validating calculations and as-built drawings as required. Upon approval of the 95% design drawings the Government shall issue a construction Notice to Proceed (NTP) to the Contractor. The Contractor is responsible for conducting a pre-design survey on the areas where work will take place to assess site conditions. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS All work for facilities 10050, 10055, 10075, 9225, 7535, and 2000 shall be in strict conformance with design drawings and specifications. All work under this contract shall include the furnishing of all materials, labor, plants, tools, equipment, and services necessary and incidental there unto. A Work Plan, Safety Plan and Quality Control Plan are all required to submitted for approval prior to comnmencement of work. The Contractor shall coordinate all work with the PM and CO (who in turn will coordinate with all pertinent parties) so as to minimize outages and interruption to mission operations. The work required to be performed by the Contractor consists of, but is not limited to, the following: MPLS 110019 Design-Build, Heating System Repair and Upgrades, Various Facilities, Lackland AFB, TX -Provide 65%, 95% and As-Built design drawings for this project. -Contractor shall demo existing domestic hot water heaters in facilities 10050, 10055, 10070, 10075. Existing domestic water heaters shall remain the property of the government and shall be delivered by the contractor to the CE equipment yard located at Bldg. 5595. Coordinate deliver with CE project manager. -Contractor shall install new thermal insulation on the following piping and equipment components which are not insulated in Bldg 2007: -Approximately 6 linear feet of condensate return piping located above air handler in mechanical room 121 and originating from mechanical room directly above mechanincal room 121 on the 2nd floor. -Approximately 20 linear feet of condensate return piping around the condensate tank/pump assembly in the tunnel below mechaincal room 121. -Approximately 6 linear feet of domestic hot water flex tubing at the hot water heater in mechanical room 121. -Approximately 4 linear feet of heating hot water piiping near the hot water coil of air handler in mechanicl room 112. -Approximately 15 square feet of steam/heating hot water heat exchanger surface area in mechanical room at 2nd floor directly above menchanial room 121. -Approximately 100 linear feet of heating hot water piping in mechanical room 121. -Contractor shall replace leaking condensate return piping above air handler in mechanical room 121 and in mechanical room directly above mechanical room 121 on the 2nd floor. -Contractor shall install condensing domestic hot water heaters in facilities 10050, 10055, 10070, and 10075. Hot water heater output capacity shall be 410,000 btuh/unit. Contractor shall coordinate with Zone #2 before commencing any work to prevent un-necessary hot water outages. -Contractor shall install new control components and/or modify existing control components/program as necessary to accomplish fully functioning heating hot water temperature set point reset based on ambient temperature. SET ASIDE: Service –Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business NAICS Code: North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. The applicable NAICS code for this acquisition is 238220 (Commercial and Institutional Construction) with a small business size standard of $14,000,000.00 BID BOND: In accordance with FAR 52.228-1 Bid Guarantee an original bid bond must be submitted with your bid package to be responsive. The amount of the bid guarantee shall be 20% of the bid price. Bids are due approximately on or about 21 Aug 12 no later than 2:00pm (CST). Specific instructions can be found in Section H, L and M of the upcoming Invitation for Bid (IFB).
