Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of the Office and Research and Development, National Exposure Research Laboratory, Microbiological and Chemical Exposure Assessment Research Division intends to award a fixed price purchase order for repairs and/or maintenance on an Edward's turbo pump (model #G1833-81007Agilent serial #037648742) used by the Office and Research and Development, National Exposure Research Laboratory, Microbiological and Chemical Exposure Assessment Research Division. The turbo pump is used to pump down the Agilent 7500 ICP-MS within the laboratory. The anticipated cost is assumed to be within the simplified acquisition threshold. According to FAR Part 13, all acquisitions that fall within the simplified acquisition threshold shall be totally set-aside for small businesses. Therefore, this requirement is set aside for small businesses. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333911 - Pump and Pumping Equipment Manufacturing. The pu mp is currently working at 10% - 20% of its maximum speed. Because the exact problem of the pump is unknown, an estimate for 'High' Service repair is prevalent. All interested vendors shall submit an estimate for the repair/maintenance of the Edward's Turbo Pump at the maximum cost to repair such problems. It is understood that the cost to repair such may or may not be as high as the estimate. A minimum of a one year warranty on all parts is required. In order to ascertain the cost of the service needed, the pump must be disassembled and decontaminated. Once evaluation and inspection of pump has taken place, vendor shall report to the Project Officer for EPA what the total cost will be. All parts must be Edwards certified parts in order to maintain proper pump balance and performance. Vendors are warned to submit the shipping and handling costs (if needed) along with the cost to repair pump. The location of the turbo pump is: US EPA, ORD/NERL/MCEARD, 26 West Martin Lu ther King Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45268. All questions/comments relating to the equipment shall be directed to the Project Officer of record: Patricia Creed at creed.patricia@epa.gov. All other questions/comments shall be directed to the Contracting Officer of record, Elaine Scott at: scott.elaine@epa.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. All responses are due no later than 3:00pm DST on July 12, 2012.
