- Description
- General Description of the Work - The work for this project generally consists of rehabilitation of approximately 12.0 miles of river levee (REACH 4 of Donna Pump to Brownsville Levee Rehabilitation) in order to meet the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Levee Certification Requirements of National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations (44 CFR 65.10). This stretch of river levee is situated entirely in Cameron County, Texas and extends along the Rio Grande from the town of San Pedro to near the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville. Major Construction Tasks -(1) Preparation of right of way (clearing and grubbing) (2) Improvement of existing top of levee (3) Construction of Flex Base (4) Construction of ramps (5) Re-seeding and establishment of vegetation for erosion control on the side slopes of the levee (6) Replacement of sluice gate assemblies inside existing gatewell structures (7) Cleaning and removing debris from openings of culverts, and inlet and outlet structures of the existing gatewell systems (8) Construction of a 3-foot deep cutoff wall under roadway. NOTE : There is a non-mandatory site visit requirement which potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend (non-mandatory site date visit details to be provided in forthcoming solicitation, which will include the Plans and Specifications attachments on FBO) at the USIBWC Mercedes Field Office, 325 Golf Rd., Mercedes, Texas 78750. Please remember this is only a pre-solicitation notice. The magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $12,000,000. Performance Period - All work shall be completed within four hundred eighty-five (485) calendar days. All flood control levee and structure work, excluding maintenance of seeding, shall be completed within, three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days. All maintenance of seeding shall be completed within one-hundred twenty (120) calendar days of completion of all other levee work. THIS IS A 100% TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROJECT.
