- Description
- Restore and modernize the RSCs, including restoring the structural integrity of the units, tie downs, the installation of fall protection systems, the modernization of the lighting and HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems. The project is also intended to provide additional energy savings through the use of advanced control and metering devices, the addition of insulation to the RSCs, and the refurbishment and weatherization of the existing envelope. The project requirement is to provide a minimum of 8,819 mmBtu of annual energy savings. The RSC envelope will be supplemented as required with new high R-value insulated panels, new personnel and overhead doors, along with the permanent attachment of various stack levels to achieve a new energy conserving weatherproof envelope. A new high efficiency mechanical system will be installed including new roof top units, connection points for high-efficiency chillers and advanced controls and metering. New compressed air and fire protection systems will be installed including lines, sprinklers and controls. New electrical systems, including distribution wiring, receptacles and high-efficiency lighting will be installed. The fall protection system will be redesigned to meet the most stringent current PNSY/OSHA/DON requirements. The operation of the drop down platforms will be modernized with permanent attachment points to allow for more efficient use. Finally the project will meet its overall energy savings goal. The upgraded envelope insulation, improvements and modification to the attachment of the stacks and improved mechanical and electrical systems will provide a minimum of 8,813 mmBTU of annual energy savings.
