Description
Q: We are assuming that the Air Force will have a licensed electrician install everything. Is this correct? A: Yes. Q: What is the number of lamps per fixture and the wattage of the lamps? A: We don't have a firm answer to this but it is not a huge concern for this phase based on the concept that relays will take over for the switches in each existing circuit. The proposed hardware, sensor grid and control wiring layout is the primary concern at this point in order for the next phase to be implemented. Q: Are you keeping the existing fluorescent fixtures or replacing them? A: We are keeping them for now, but plan on upgrading each fixture to LED in the future. This is why the spec was written in very exacting language to insure the installed system is very flexible and easily upgradeable for future expansion and retro-commissioning with upcoming LED technology. Q: Your RFQ mentions LED lights. We can provide LED fixtures integrated with our controls. Is that a separate contract or should it be included in the quote? A: Separate contract, see question 3. Q: The initial setup of the sensors and computer controls will need to be done by us via field visit. Can we quote this T&M, plus travel expenses? Please note that we will also train the local electrician for any service work. A: Depending on the system used, we may have a qualified person already on-hand. Let us know what product you propose to use and we can advise as to the availability of qualified personnel on hand for commissioning. Q: Does the building have a Building Automation System? A: Yes, for HVAC we use the Trane Tracer system, and are currently implementing a facility dedicated network backbone to tie all systems together. Q: The system we have in mind will require a monthly service/monitoring contract to provide ongoing management. How do we set that up in the quote? A: A monthly service/monitoring contract is not acceptable for this type of system and will not be considered by the end user. Q: Are any of the lights on an emergency lighting system? A: Yes, thank you for the comments about emergency lighting options, we will take them under advisement.
