Description
VH3D LED SPEC The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Presidential Helicopter Program Office (PMA 274), Patuxent River, MD is seeking information for potential sources regarding industry technologies available for the development and qualification of a Light Emitting Diode (LED) hover/landing light to replace the current incandescent bulb used on the VH-3D Presidential Helicopter. The results of this Sources Sought will be utilized to determine the availability and adequacy for potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and the issuance of an RFP, including the use of any appropriate small business programs. All Business Set-Aside categories will be considered. DISCLAIMER THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. PROGRAM OBJECTNE The primary objective of the LED Hover/Landing Light program is to acquire a product that is a direct replacement, in fit and output performance, of the current light while increasing the operating life to no less than 1000 hours.
