- Description
- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is procuring microrna sequencing services for the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) of Edgewood Maryland 21010. This serves as the Government's notice of awrad a sole source to Array Star Incorporated, 9700 Great Seneca Highway, Rockville MD 20850 by citing FAR 6.302-1; One responsbile source and no others will satisfy the requirement. USAMRICD has a requirement to identify potential therapeutics by microarray and microRNA studies. Arraystar shall prepare samples for RNA isolation and perform microarray-based genomic, and microRNA analyses from frozen and paraffin sections, freshly frozen tissue blocks, plasma, urine and cerebrospinal fluid. This is a follow-on requirement for commercially processed microarray analyses, which include microarray expression and microRNA sequencing of paraffin and frozen samples. This requirement is directly related to previous requirement that Arraystar had supported. Arraystar has already gone through quality control testing with samples prepared by USAMRICD. Other companies may have the ability to provide the service, but they first have to develop methods to produce the same quality of RNA to generate microarray and microRNA sequencing data and subjected to quality control testing. Through support of the previous requirement, arraystar has the knowledge of producing high RNA quality to meet the Government's needs. Additionally, in order to establish reproducible and comparable results, microarray and microRNA sequencing data must be produced from the same source. The animal protocol evaluating the differential gene expression and microRNA biomarkers is already approved (Protocol U1001). Since Arraystar has the experience of the USAMRICD samples are prepared, they can complete our studies in a timely manner and meet the first milestones. This is not a request for proposals and a solicitation will not be provided. All responses to this notice can be sent to Erin Maddox at erin.maddox@amedda.army.mil. NO telephone requests will be honored. All responses must be received by 8:00 a.m. eastern standard time on 17 July 2012.
