Description
MARKET SURVEY Requirement The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement for a firm fixed price construction contract for Gallery Leak Repair and Lighting Replacement at Barkley Navigation Lock of the Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Barkley Navigation Lock is located at river mile 30.6 above the mouth of the Cumberland River in Western Kentucky. The Lock is adjacent to the town of Grand Rivers, KY along State Highway 62. a.Leak Repair. The lower land wall lock gallery needs repair starting from monolith L10 and ending at monolith L22. There are leaks through cracks on the ceiling, wall and monolith joints of the gallery. The required work at Barkley Lock, includes: installing polyvinyl chloride waterstops at the monolith joints, polyurethane injection adhesive to seal approximately 400 feet of cracks, safety tape installation, and water pressure cleaning the gallery. The leaking crack will require polyurethane injection grout and the leaking monolith joint will require installation of the waterstops. The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the work and ensure that the lock gallery and appurtenant areas are clean and ready for operation. The Contractor shall also be responsible for disposing of any materials removed from the gallery during this work. b.Lighting Replacement. The work consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, methods, and labor for performing all operations required for the replacement of lighting systems at the Barkley Navigational Lock. Installation shall include demolition and appropriate disposal of the existing conduits, conductors, fixtures, switches, and receptacles. The new lights and receptacles are to be located at the same locations from which they were demolished. The work shall be complete, tested, and ready for operation. The bid schedule is set up with the base bid to include Leak Repair and Lighting Replacement at Land Wall Gallery, elevation 329 and the remaining specific areas for lighting replacement is set up as options. The magnitude of construction is $500,000 to $1,000,000. The anticipated NAICS code is 237990 with a small business size standard of $33,500,000.00.
