- Notice of Supplier and subcontracting opportunities - The United States Postal Service intends to award a Design Build Competitive Guaranteed Maximum Price contract for the development of a Customer Contact Center located at the Los Angeles Processing and Distribution Center, 7001 S Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90052-8698. T e D/B Contractor is to perform the renovation of approximately 50,000 Square Feet of interior space to accommodate a large open office area and some support offices, training rooms, employee facilities etc. The open office area requires an extensive IT network backbone. The renovation/ reconfiguration of space to include offices, workstation areas, restroom upgrades, training rooms, nesting room, conference rooms, lunch room, locker alcove etc. The existing electrical system will need to be modified extensively to support new workstations and offices. This includes power and new lighting, and fire alarm system. The telecommunications system will be entirely new to support phone and data requirements. Significant upgrades to the HVAC and IT infrastructure will be required. The existing HVAC system shall be expanded with new RTUs/AHUs for added employee density. In addition, CRAC units are required for the computer room. Revisions to plumbing systems as necessary to support restrooms, break areas, etc. Fire protection systems will be modified and designed by a licensed Fire Protection Engineer to support specified occupancies. The construction shall be phased to facilitate relocation of existing operations prior to construction of the Customer Contact Center. This includes the construction of the Multi-purpose Room 141 and the Second floor Classroom, Training rooms and offices as shown on the drawings. The Cafeteria shall be repainted and floors re-finished as part of the scope of work. See specific elements of the projects described in the specifications and shown on the drawings. Base Bid time of performance is 156 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. All work is noted on the plans and specifications issued by the Postal Service request for proposal. Subcontracting goals for this project are: Small Business 40.80%, Minority Business 4.80%, and Women Owned Business 7.70%.
