- 1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to provide power generators and light sets at Thebephatshwa Airfield, Gaborone, Botswana. 1.1 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: 1.1.1 The contractor is responsible for providing the following fully operational equipment: (1) The contractor shall provide generators as required to provide enough energy to power a 50 hertz and 60 herz 110/240 single and three phase system. This system shall get its energy requirements from the drawings attached. The contractor shall be responsible for the design, maintenance and safety of the system. The contractor shall make recommendations as to additional energy requirements not shown on the drawing to satisfy the energy requirement. The generators shall be located in the area identified by the drawings as "Generator Farm". (2) (a)Ten (10) diesel-engine power-generated, electric-powered towable light towers - 120/240v, 1ph. 50/60hz. powering four (4) 1000w metal halide floodlights mounted on a 30ft manual telescoping tower with 360 degree rotation. Light towers are required from 0800 on 26 July 2012 to 1700 on 22 August 2012 (b) Nineteen (19) stationary electric powered light sets - 120/240v, 1ph. 50/60hz powering four (4) 1000w metal halide floodlights mounted on a 30ft tower. Light towers are to be designed to withstand 55mph wind loads at full extended operating height with a three-point outrigger stabilization system or direct buried sufficiently in the soil so as to withstand the above required wind loading. Lights will incorporate a floodlight pattern with projection that will illuminate 5 to 7 acres at 0.5fc level. Light towers shall be located per the attached drawings. (3) Sufficient fluorescent/ incandescent light to illuminate the following: ten (10) 15 meter x 36 meter tents, three (3) 20 meter x 50 meter tents, and three (3) 5 meter x 10 meter tents. This lighting is required from 0800 on 26 July 2012 to 1700 on 18 August 2012. The contractor shall provide the design for review upon acceptance of the contract. (4) 335 total electric outlets for the following: twenty (20) outlets for each of the ten (10) 15 meter x 36 meter tents, thirty (30) outlets for each of the three (3) 20 meter x 50 meter tents, and fifteen (15) outlets for each of the three (3) 5 meter x 10 meter tents. Each outlet will have six individual outlets to be used for recharging cell phones, razors, and computer laptops. These outlets are required from 0800 on 26 July 2012 to 1700 on 18 August 2012. (5) All power generation for the items in paragraphs 1.1.1(3) and 1.1.1(4) from 0800 on 26 July 2012 to 1700 on 19 August 2012. 1.1.2 The Contractor is responsible for providing the above equipment and all services required to keep equipment in a safe, operational condition. Equipment shall be delivered to Thebephatshwa Airfield to meet the timeframe stated in paragraph 1.1.1. The contractor will coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for specific locations of these items on Thebephatshwa Airfield. The Contractor shall be responsible for all maintenance on the above mentioned equipment. Contractor shall be responsible for providing all tools, lubricant products, and parts. The Contractor shall provide repairs, recovery and/or replacement for all of their equipment. The Contractor is responsible for replacement of all equipment that are deemed inoperable. Upon notification, the contractor will recover inoperable equipment. The Contractor will replace inoperable equipment within 24 hours of notification from the COR. The Contractor will carry insurance to cover the cost for replacement or repair of equipment lost, stolen or damaged through criminal acts, natural acts or hostile acts. This is to preclude the U.S. government from being held liable for claims generating from any of the above. The Contractor is responsible for providing one (1) each dry powder fire extinguishers of 4.0 kilogram capacity with a fire rating of 21A/113B for each generator and light set (30 total fire extinguishers) to be used throughout the period of performance for this contract. The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring all fire extinguishers are operational prior to delivery to the designated site. The Contractor shall ensure that any expended or non-operational fire extinguishers are replaced within 24 hours of notification from the COR. The contractor will remove all equipment and fire extinguishers including those which were expended at the conclusion of the period of performance.
