Description
Cancer Registry Software Program The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) is seeking sources to provide a Cancer Registry Software Program, which includes license and customer support for the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. The software program needs to be able to facilitate all data entry and statistical analysis functions for a central cancer registry database. This is a request for information (RFI) only. Do not submit proposal or quote. It is requested that all companies interested in participating in this effort please note their interest and provide indication of their respective capabilities to perform the effort described below. Additionally, the Government is requesting a Rough Order of Magnitude for the cost of this software program. The software requirements are as follows: 1.Password security 2.Encryption enabled 3.Autocoding of data elements as needed for format and valid codes 4.Extensive error checking, field/interfield/standard/expanded Edits 5.Abstraction and printing with codes and/or English meanings 6.Ability to add new fields (extended dataset) as necessary to meet VA needs 7.Database query and ad hoc report generation 8.Search speed necessary to quickly compile a minimum of 750,000 cases (present total caseload) 9.Frequency distributions, calculations for percentage, cumulative percentage, median, mode and standard deviation 10.Cross tabulations, two and three way with controlling variable 11.Standardized summary reports 12.Actuarial and Kaplan-Meier survival reports 13.Subset creation 14.Industry standardized reports ("canned reports") 15.Multiple database handling (creation of multiple specialty databases) 16.Interfacing with graphics packages 17.Interfacing with statistical programs 18.Data matching and linkages 19.Data extraction in various formats to include ASCII, NAACCR, etc. 20.Annual data approximation needs of 50,000 to 55,000 new cases per year 21.Single license for installation at the Washington DC VAMC server platform 22.Automatic ftp/web enabled software updates, minimum of 6 times per year to meet standard setter and user identified problem corrections The period of performance for the effort is one (1) 12-month base period plus three (3) 12-month options. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bids, Request for Quotations, or a Request for Proposal. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this RFI. Your response to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this RFI. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by VA in developing its acquisition strategy and Performance Work Statement. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI.
