- Marine Corps System Command seeks information concerning the commercial availability and/or potential sources of supply for Maritime Headsets to support United States Marine Corps (USMC) Tactical Handheld Radio (THHR) systems. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded based on this RFI. A Maritime Headset should meet the following specifications: 1. The maritime headsets shall be submersible to at least 15 meters of seawater. 2. The maritime headset shall be operable with the AN/PRC-148A(V)3 following immersion in at least 15 meters of seawater for up to two hours. 3. The maritime headset shall provide a watertight audio connection that interfaces with the standard male six-pin tactical audio connector provided with an AN/PRC-148A(V)3. 4. The maritime headset shall be one size fits all, meaning that the size of the headset shall either fit a typical range of head shapes and sizes, or shall be adjustable to fit this typical range. 5. The maritime headset shall provide a sealed push to talk button located along the length of the cable attaching the headset to the radio and capable of being affixed to clothing or equipment. 6. The maritime headset shall be capable of being worn under a military helmet and will not impede visual or aural awareness. The AN/PRC-148A(V)3 is manufactured by the Thales Corporation. Please provide a copy of the standard commercial warranty for the product that meets the requirement in items 1 - 6. Interested sources are invited to submit information on Maritime Headsets that meet the specifications listed above. Responders are requested to provide information in form of a data sheet that illustrates which of the above specifications the headset meets, as well as general availability and typical lead time. If said Maritime Headsets are available via Department of Defense or other federal supply channels, responders are instructed to provide National Stock Number and Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, GSA Schedule information, or other identifying information on supply availability. Please limit your submission to no more than five (5) pages (plus the commercial warranty information). All interested sources are requested to identify their North American Industry Classification System code and small business status, if any. All correspondence shall include vendor s business name, address, CAGE or DUNS number and point of contact. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, OR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS.
