Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command, Program Manager for Advanced Submarine Systems Development Program Office (SEA 073R) within the Program Executive Office for Submarines (PEOSUB), will host an Industry Day in support of the SSN/SSGN Survivability (S3P) program on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at The John Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory, 11100 Johns Hopkins Rd, Laurel, MD 20723 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All attendees must send clearance information to JPAS SMO Code 888984 or FAX to (240) 228-6400. Upon arrival, contractors should enter into the main entrance, entering into Lobby One (see link below). Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. The conference will be held in the Parsons Auditorium, directly off the main entrance. Attendance is limited to no more than 3 individuals per organization. All attendees will be required to present Government issued photo identification to obtain the visitor IDs. The S3P Industry Day conference will be classified at the SECRET level and is only open to U. S. citizens with a current U.S. SECRET clearance. RSVP no later than 20 July 2012 to andrew.slaterbeck@navy.mil. RSVPs received after July 20, 2012 will not be accepted and denied attendance. There is no registration fee for attending this Industry Day. http://www.jhuapl.edu/aboutapl/visitor/mapcampus.asp SEA 073R is a non-acquisition program that develops and matures technologies for successful integration into future and modernized submarine classes. S3P has been established within SEA 073R to pursue science and technology that will enable SSN/SSGN operation in an Anti-Access Area Denial (A2AD) environment: specifically to anticipate vulnerabilities and develop countermeasures. The Government invites participants to this Industry Day that are capable of performing advanced science and technology research that can improve the survivability of the SSN/SSGN submarine forces for both near term (less than 10 years) and long term (greater than 10 years). This Industry Day will provide information on a forthcoming a Broad Area Announcement (BAA) currently in draft form and attached hereto. The Government intends to issue this BAA within 30 days of the aforementioned Industry Day. The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept proposals as a result of this industry day. White papers will only be accepted in response to the BAA once formally issued following the Industry Day. This notice shall not be construed as a promise to contract or commitment of any kind. The Government will not award a contract resulting from this Industry Day notification. During Industry Day there will be NO opportunities for questions or discussions between individual industry representatives and Government technical Program Office representatives. However, the Government will provide index cards to industry partners in attendance to document UNCLASSIFIED questions that arise during the conference. The Government will collect ALL index cards prior to the conclusion of Industry Day. In addition, UNCLASSIFIED electronic mail questions regarding the forthcoming Industry Day and attached BAA received prior to the close of business on 27 July 2012 will be accepted by the NAVSEA Contract Specialist Ryan Hackett at ryan.hackett1@navy.mil. The Government will attempt to respond to questions received before the Industry Day is conducted on July 31, 2012. However, the Government is not committed to respond to any questions. Please note that industry participation is voluntary and the Government will not reimburse respondents or attendees for any efforts expended as a result of or in response to this notice. No specific acquisition strategy or contractual plans will be addressed during the Industry Day.
