Description
Instructions to gain access to the Navy Base, the Pier and the Vessel. Access to Navy Base Form - 10 days ahead Access to Pier Form - 2 days ahead Access to Vessel Form - 5 days ahead DRAFT Performance Work Statement The USNS WATERS, (T-AGS 45) is a U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC) vessel that is contract operated. The ship has an Integrated Diesel Electric Propulsion Plant that was built at Avondale Shipyard and delivered in 1993. The USNS WATERS is presently American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) ACCU certified for unattended engine room operation under the 1990 Steel Vessel Rules. The vessel is also certified by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for unmanned operations. The WATERS requires replacement of the existing Ross-Hill Controls Propulsion and Thruster SCR Drives, the Ross-Hill Generator Controls and associated Ross-Hill Switchboard Controls. The existing Ross-Hill Controls are becoming obsolete and supportability has become an issue. The Military Sealift Command intends to replace the Propulsion/Thruster and Generator/Switchboard Control Systems with new technology. The new technology shall be supportable for a minimum of 15 years. The RFP is not ready for posting; however, the ship check window remains the week of 9 July 2012 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This posting is to afford potential offerors the opportunity to shipcheck the vessel in anticipation of the RFP being issued. A draft Performance Work Statement is attached to this announcement. Additionally instructions for gaining access to the base, pier and ship are also attached. Please provide notification to Elyssa.parana@navy.mil of your intent to participate in this shipcheck opportunity. In addition, please follow the instructions for all security accesses. The ship will be available every day during the period of 9-13 July 2012 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Hawaii Local Time.
