REQUEST FOR INFORMATION VA701-12-I-0274 VIRTUAL VeHU TRAINING CONFERENCE AUGUST 7-24, 2012 This request for Information is for planning purposes only, at this time, and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the Department of Veterans Affairs. Background/Introduction: VA eHealth University (VeHU) is VA's annual training conference that provides education on the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and related clinical software (VistA) developed by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). VeHU highlights innovations towards patient care through training classes on VHA's clinical informatics products. The VeHU Conference provides training to providers, nurses, health information managers, pharmacists, clinical informatics support staff, imaging coordinators, radiologists, and points of contact for the My HealtheVet web site. The conference consists of plenary sessions, didactic lecture sessions and hands on training computer lab sessions. In order to provide an engaging and educational online learning resource, VA initiated development of a single web based modality that serves to introduce and guide VA staff thru the many online resources available from past VA eHealth University conferences, as well as provide a venue for future online training. Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA) is sponsoring the Virtual VeHU training conference, scheduled to occur the weeks of August 13-17 and 20-24, 2012. OIA requires sleeping rooms and conference space as prescribed below, to include dates prior to the event to allow for setup, rehearsals, and other preparations. Contractor/venue shall provide sleeping rooms within the Federal Per Diem rate or lower. Preferred geographic region is the Orlando metro area. Contractor/venue shall provide conference space to meet required specifications listed below. Conference space will be required on a 24 hour hold beginning on August 7, 2012 and released on August 24, 2012. The additional time prior to the first session is due to lead time required for set up and testing. "OIA prefers to work with venues willing to forego cancellation or attrition clauses relating to sleeping room revenue. b.Conference space with power and internet requirements: "All conference rooms must be rekeyed prior to group's arrival to ensure group has only access to space. "Meeting space will need to be on a 24 hour hold beginning on August 9th and concluding at noon on August 24th. "It is preferred that conference rooms be located as close together as possible to minimize time needed to get between rooms.
