Description
The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC) New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC) METC is surveying the market for contractors capable of providing overall support in developing and maintaining advanced armaments such as artillery, main battle tanks, mobile combat platforms, mortars, grenades, and pyrotechnics. The support involves modifications to an existing isostatic press manufactured and supplied by Loomis Products, Levittown, Pennsylvania. The modifications, when complete, will as a minimum press-load a Helium charge into an empty projectile and attach a closure device. The closed projectile will then be moved off the station and onto a takeaway conveyor. All of the operations will be performed without direct operator involvement.Knowledge and experience with the existing isostatic press and supporting system design is preferred. The scope of work will include items such as tool design, supply of material/components, complete design package (including drawings), and installation of a fully operational system. Ancillary services include training during start-up, system operation procedures, maintenance manuals, and periodic on-call support after commissioning. The Government shall maintain intellectual property rights to all work. Interested parties must own and control US based fabrication facilities for isostatic presses. Fabrication and production must be performed under an ISO 9001 Quality Management Program or Government approved equivalent. Interested parties are advised that the work will involve energetic/explosive material and as such must be experienced with standards such as DI-SAFT-81563, DI-SAFT-81299, and DI-SAFT-80101.
