- Description
- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is not a solicitation, but market research to determine potential sources to provide a finger printing digital imaging system to preserve, enhance, produce comparison and identification quality output, and track and manage images of latent impressions that are developed on evidence using various processing technologies during latent print examination for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Office of Forensic Sciences. The system must be an integrated, stand-alone, computer driven system. The system must enable laboratory personnel to capture an image of an impression, analyze the image through specialized software, and catalog and store the image permanently on digital media and have the capability of producing a high quality hardcopy. The system must consist of three (3) fundamental subsystems: input; central acquisition/management/tracking and processing; and output. All components of this system must be optimally matched and fully integrated for maximum performance. The system’s image processing software must accommodate the task requirements of forensic latent print examinations and be easy to use. Furthermore the system must be able to authenticate the originality of the images that are acquired into the system; record an audit trail of each access of an image; and record (automatically), display and upon request, print an audit trail of the enhancement history of each image. Finally, the system must be able to incorporate the large database of previously archived digital images into its database of images so that the images can be displayed, printed, have new case images added. The NAICS code for this procurement is 54199. All communication regarding this posting shall be in writing and be received by the due date of June 29, 2012.
