Description
PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of the BAA-12-46, Structural Logic Phase II program on June 29, 2012 at 675 North Randolph Street, Arlington, VA 22203-2114 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the Structural Logic Phase II program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the Structural Logic Phase II program is to continue the work conducted during Phase I of the Structural Logic program. Phase I developed innovative approaches and solutions to passively adaptive, high stiffness and high damping structural elements and sub-assemblies. In Phase II, DARPA is interested in performing a large-scale demonstration of the structural systems developed during Phase I of the program. The research and development during Phase II should result in a technology demonstrator that is capable of illustrating the potential benefits of using advanced phenomena like negative stiffness, negative mass, and target energy transfer in high performance structural designs. If successful the Structural Logic program will eliminate the need for unnecessary design margins and the use of parasitic components like pneumatic shocks and supplemental stiffeners that are installed to address inferior performance against dynamic and impulsive loadings. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT June 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), at the following e-mail inbox DARPA-BAA-12-46@darpa.mil. Registration requests must include the individual names, organization, contact information and citizenship in the registration e-mail. A registration is not considered finalized until a confirmation e-mail is received from the BAA coordinator. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 50 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. The Proposers' Day Conference will be unclassified and open to the general public. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. Additionally, all US Citizens are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. Non-US citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 "Foreign National Visit Request". The completed Citizenship Form or DARPA Form 60 must be submitted by e-mail to: DARPA-BAA-12-46@darpa.mil no later than June 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The Proposers' Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Proposer's Day. Additionally, attendees who would like to present company overviews, discuss their technology expertise, and/or discuss teaming opportunities in scheduled presentations at the conference may request to do so. Presentations may contain five (5) slides in PDF format with no proprietary or ITAR restricted information. The government reserves the right to truncate any presentation material deemed inappropriate for this meeting. Each presentation is limited to five (5) minutes with an additional five (5) minutes for questions (including logistical issues). There are ten (10) attendee presenter time slots available, which will be determined on a first come first serve basis. The presentation order will be assigned strictly according to the order of which requests were received. Attendees desiring to reserve a time slot to present at the Proposers' Day Conference should notify the BAA Administrator at DARPA-BAA-12-46@darpa.mil as soon as possible, but no later than the registration cutoff date for the Proposers' Day Conference. All material to be displayed at the conference must be approved in advance by both the organization that funded the research and the DARPA Program Manager. The DARPA Program Manager will screen the proposed material for sensitive but unclassified material and approve in advance any presentations. It is the presenter's responsibility to ensure that all material they plan to present at the Proposers' Day Conference has been approved by the funding organization in advance. An electronic copy of all material to be presented must be provided to the DARPA Program Manager at the e-mail inbox: DARPA-BAA-12-46@darpa.mil for review by June 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). There will be no exceptions to this requirement. Companies are free to present, but DARPA does not sponsor that information on the Agency website.
