Description
The Department of the Interior (DOI) needs up to three new or used Cessna 206s for the National Park Service (NPS) in Alaska. Cessna models 206G or H are typically the aircraft that will meet the Government's needs. NPS uses Cessna 206s to perform law enforcement patrols; survey, track, and monitor wildlife; survey and monitor vegetative species; manage invasive species; perform scientific studies; perform search and rescue; and detect and monitor wildland fire. DOI will issue a commercial item solicitation for the airplanes and evaluate offers utilizing a best value tradeoff process allowed by Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. DOI will award at least one contract for at least one airplane. DOI also may award a single contract for up to three airplanes; award two contracts: one contract for a single airplane and one other contract for up to two airplanes; or award three contracts, each for a single airplane. This action will be an unrestricted acquisition and not set-aside. The 2007 NAICS code for this acquisition is 441229, All Other Motor Vehicle Dealers, and the small business size standard is $25,500,000. The Government also plans to contact entities that have advertised aircraft for sale to inform them of the solicitation. The airplanes shall be delivered FOB to Anchorage, Alaska. The solicitation should be issued by June 27, 2012, and offers could be due on July 20, 2012. The apparent successful offeror(s) must be registered in CCR (www.ccr.gov) in order to be awarded a contract.
