- Description
- The National Institute of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM), has a requirement to procure an extremely rare Yiddish early manuscript for its collection, on a sole source basis with LES ENLUMINURES, LTD 2970 N. Lake Shore Dr., # 11B Chicago, IL 60657. The manuscript below has been selected and will be provided uniquely from LES ENLUMINURES, LTD. This item is an anonymous [Medical Miscellany], handwritten in both the Yiddish and Hebrew languages. This manuscript was probably written by a physician. The core of this manuscript contains a collection of medical cures arranged in the order of the aliment of the organ affected. This unique volume was written in Wengrow, Poland, and is dated in 1596, and only LES ENLUMINERES is able to provide this unique manuscript. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.1001-(b) (1). The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 519120 (Libraries and Archives), and the business size standard is 7.0 Million. NLM anticipates that an award will be made on or about July 9, 2012. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations, nor is a RFQ available. However, if any other interested party believes that it can meet the requirement it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other information furnished must be in writing, and must contain material in sufficient detail for NLM to determine if the party can meet all of the foregoing requirements. Capability statements and related materials must be received in this office by 1:00 pm local prevailing time on June 28, 2012 via e-mail to chaparre@mail.nlm.nih.gov. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
