Description
The project is for Building 210, a C-130 aircraft maintenance shop and administrative facility for the 302nd Airlift Wing on Peterson AFB. The project consists of making various large-scale repairs throughout the building consisting of architectural, mechanical and electrical work. The locker rooms, restrooms and offices between hangar bays are poorly configured, resulting in inefficient space use, reduced egress widths, insufficient locker, shower, and toilet space for both men and women, and lack of handicap access. The building requires correction of fire and building code violations. Various paint finishes are deteriorated, including the hangar floor coating. Concrete in hangar bays are spalled and cracked. Room 223B is being used as a SIPRNET security room but does not have the required physical security features. The existing steam heating system has failed. The piping, on both steam supply and condensate-return systems is leaking due to excessive corrosion and fatigue. The fuel vapor exhausting is inadequate in the maintenance bays, especially the Fuel Cell, leading to vapors being detected in the admin areas. Sanitary drains must be installed with appropriate chemical contamination protection. Critical electrical loads are not connected to the automatic transfer switch and the generator due to changes in building configuration. Circuits are not clearly indicated on panel boards. When circuits are tripped, building occupants are unable to determine locations of circuit breakers. The electrical system appears unbalanced. Lighting in maintenance bays is sufficient.
